Ferrari has done it, the have finally announced
the Ferrari California even though us internet
bloggers have been talking about it for years.
Ferrari is claiming it is a classic 4.3 liter V8
and is only going to come in a convertible body
style. I have to say that some of the
early photo's have peaked my interest however I
am somewhat disappointed in the rumors that the
Ferrari California is going to be sharing a lot
of body parts with the Maserati GranTurismo.
Can one justify spending 210K on a GranTurismo
re-badged? While I am a bit disappointed
with some of the rumors floating around, I am
going to reserve my judgment until the car hits
the auto shows in October. Some
specifications for those interested:
Layout:
Front mid-engine, rear-drive two door
convertible only, with a "2+" configuration that
includes a small rear seat or finished parcel
shelf.
Engine:
4.3 liter, gas direct-injection V-8, with "flat"
crankshaft which produces 454 horsepower.
Performance: 0 - 60 in < 4 seconds.
And last but
not least, carbon-ceramic disc brakes. |
